I first tried elf through the wonderful Elf Bundle. Since then, I have ventured off on my own, canceled my subscription and made my first order shown below. I think elf sometimes has a bad name because of their affordable prices. I know that luxury brands often stick up their noses and make comments like well I wouldn't want to try that product even if it is free. Well here is why the snobs are wrong. Many luxury brands have similar sub-brands. I have heard that L'oreal and Lancome are owned by the same company. It has been said that some of their products are virtually identical. Now that is not always true but the point is this. Do not ignore a brand just because it is not at the price point you are accustomed to. There are luxury products that cost more but will last you a lot longer and so the cost per wear is lower and the purchase will save you money over time. And there are also brands like elf that will wow you with some of the quality products in their line that even beat their luxury competition. Here is the part one of my new brand trial. I will post a part two later with my thoughts on each item I tried. Below are referral links in case you want to support my efforts on your behalf. Happy Shopping!
I did pay for all of the items below with my own money and was not asked by elf to write this review.
The prices below show the full price of each item but I got them on sale for 50% off on sale.
I try not to buy disposable cloth products because
I would prefer something that is biodegradable like LaFresh but I made an exception for this product. I love the idea of having some nice lotion to avoid a shower on a hot day. I guess I justify the splurge by thinking about all of the water I am saving. Anyways these 3 are amazing and I LOVE them. *guilty face*
See above+ I saw some people did not like this smell as much as the coco vanilla but I like it almost just as much. Its awesome and I love mangos!
See above+ I saw some people did not like this smell as much as the coco vanilla but I like it almost just as much. Its awesome and I love how subtle it is.
Not as pigmented as the love of my life --Urban Decay, but still an amazing eye shadow. I love it! Don't buy the baked shadows in the pallet, they are not the same formula for some reason and I hated them. This one is nice though.
This eye shadow is sooo pigmented in the swatch I did. I am excited to see if it is nice on the eyes.
I like this product for removing swatches after videos. I have not tried it on my face yet. Thoughts TBD
Love love love this bronzer. Probably my favorite elf product I have tried so far. It has such nice color choices and together makes a beautiful bronzer. I swirl my brush around all 4 colors and use them as a nice contour.
Great color payoff, I love this. I think the bronzer blow is better but because of the price I did not have to choose one over the other so I got both. Yay
Highly recommend. This product is amazing. It smells nice and left my lips smooth without hurting like some products do. You must try it!
Meh just like any other eye brush. Wow you can't beat $1 though!
This product is highly rated online and so I had to try it. I am so glad I did because today I tried the e.l.f. Studio Flawless Finish Foundation and this powder and my foundation is still going strong. I am sure everyone has different results and some people have felt overwhelmed with a loose powder but I loved it. Just make sure
to use a super soft fluffy brush that does not pick up too much powder. I use the larger brush in this real techniques set.
These brushes go on sale a lot at Ulta. Do not pay full price.I am not a fan of elf brushes:( I hope they prove me wrong some day.
I highly recommend elf's blushes, they are so nice and very build-able I would say probably not as pigmented as TheBalm but personally that is okay for me because I feel safer sometimes that I will not accidentally over do it like I could with other products. Also they do build up to nice color. I think these are my go to blushes for now on.
This is a great blush, I am really happy with it!
I think this blush is similar to one that Nar's has. Although this blush has a name that is more PC. I would feel more comfy buying a younger friend this one if that makes sense but for the nicer name. Also I personally love this blush but if you do not like litter don't get it. Its not too much in my opinion but it is there.
I love the color payoff of this blush. Its so pretty. More swatches to come.
I was scared to try liquid blushes but since they got such good reviews I had to try one. I put 1 pump of the liquid on the top of my hand and then used a real techniques brush to buff it into my cheeks. Love it!
I tend to have drier skin but right now it has been fluctuating between dry and oily and then cracky with the weather change. Right now my skin is just plain mad its fall. Anyways this Foundation did not really work for me. I think it is meant for someone with oily skin. I will use it though, its not bad, just not as good for me personally as the one above.
I love this foundation and I might even switch. The color is not perfect for me and it is a bit more on the yellow side vs my pink undertones, however, it is full coverage and did not feel heavy on me at all. I had a busy day and it is still there going strong even though I forgot primer and my finishing spray. I am super impressed. (Skin on the drier side)
